As if us foreigners weren't scary looking enough... It's that time of year again, folks!
JET HALLOWEEN PARTY 2011
When: Saturday October 29th 2011, 6.30pm-10pm
Where: Free Ball Sports bar in Sanjo Keihan, Kyoto (website: Free Ball )

What: All you can drink ("nomihoudai") from 7.00pm to 9.30pm (2hours30mins total!), costume competition, arm wrestling competition, pool tables and MORE~
How much: 3500yen when you buy tickets beforehand, 4000yen on the day
Details
This year's Halloween party will be in Sanjo Keihan, Kyoto. We have got a really nice venue lined up for you all, as I'm sure you will all agree after checking out the website!
Doors will open at 6.30pm, with the event starting at 7pm, which is also when the bar will be open for nomihoudai (included within the ticket price!). Drink as much as you want until 9.30pm.
We will have our usual dance competition and costume competition. Check out the "Important Details" below for details about your dance group. We are also allowed to use the arm wrestling table, so we may throw in an arm wrestling competition for the strong people out there. There are about 2-3 pool tables we can also take advantage of.

RSVP TO THE EVENT
It will help us out a lot if you RSVP TO THIS EVENT ON THIS PAGE!!! Please do not use the comments section below to say you're coming. Click on the RSVP button instead. This is so that we know how many people are coming to the event, which makes it much easier to manage. We will be able to have a list of people who are coming which we can check off at the door on the night. People who RSVP will get priority over people who do not. If you are bringing guests, it is also possible to RSVP on behalf of them.
BUYING TICKETS
We will be selling tickets in advance. It is highly advised that you do this, as we have a limit on the amount of people that can come. It is also more expensive to buy tickets on the day of the event, and will also be much easier for on the night if you already have a ticket in hand. I understand that it is very difficult for certain JETs to come and get tickets at these times. However, everyone should be able to make it to the "Shiga ALT Skill Development Conference 2011", so everyone should have at least one chance to pick up tickets.

Let's make this a fun night guys! This venue is amazing, so please let us respect it and the staff. We may be looking scary and mean, but please keep it classy so that we may use the venue again in the future if all goes well.
Important details
- You are allowed to bring you own food, but you must NOT dispose of it in the bar. So if you are to bring any food, please dispose of it elsewhere. It's pretty nice of them to allow us to bring any food in at all, so please respect this rule
- Get there on time if you wanna get your drink on nice and early. The nomihoudai starts as soon as the doors open (7pm) and will last for 2hours30mins.
- DANCING GROUPS- We have sent everyone an email a week ago about giving us details about your dance group. This includes how many people is in your group, who your group is representing, a group and/or dance name (optional), and how long your dance will be. You must send us details BEFORE October 15th. If you do not, we cannot guarantee you a time slot on stage. It requires a lot of planning and work to ensure the event runs smoothly, and all we ask is that you send us these details above if you wish to take part in the dance competition. Please send me details of your dance. Mainly by sending me (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) what song you will be using, how many people in your group (you can also make up a dance group name if you like) and what area you will be representing (although, one person dancers are very welcome!).

Can we confirm beforehand there will be more than 1 bartender to cater to the 50 of us alcohol-hungry JETs? Because if they can’t verify that I’m just going to drink myself silly down the street and join up later.

We understand the problems people had with the bar last year. The bar itself is much bigger. On the day, we will have around 4 staff on the bar, and will be able to open another bar just for drinking if needs be. This is what we have been told

What is the limit on tickets?
There is no official limit on tickets as of yet. The club owner told us they can comfortably fit around 100 people or more, and we have already discussed options with club owner about going over that number. Until then, we have plenty of space, so bring your friends, other prefecture ALTs, teachers, anybody who might be interested! We only ask you RSVP as soon as possible so we can get an estimate of how many will be attending.
Is AJET Shiga inviting other prefectures too?
As of now we haven’t invited any other prefectures. The reason being we want to give priority to Shiga ALTs first. After the 13th and 14th and more tickets are sold, we will consider inviting other prefectures if the numbers are still low.
We don’t want any of those trashy Nara ALTs show up smelling like deer and ruining the place for the rest of us who know how to bathe properly. Damn Nara ALTs….
This shall be excellent.
I’ll be bringing 2 guests. I will also be purchasing 3 tickets on the 27th of October in Otsu, because the locations of Hikone and Nagahama are both at a distance of some length in places I have no other purpose of travel.
Awwww, I like Nara… Those deer, very much like me, are extremely overfed but still vaguely adorable.
I am 1.5 hours away from Hikone so I cant get the tickets until the 27th. Please hold 2 for me until then!! (Under the name Allison.) Thanks!

For those of you who wish to furikomi your money to reserve your ticket, information and instructions are as follows, in exactly the order they were entered on a Shiga Bank ATM.
Bank: ゆちょう銀行 (yuchou ginkou)—this was under the 普通銀行 (futsuu ginkou) section on my ATM
Branch name: 468 (四六八) (yon roku hachi)—this will be written in kanji, not numbers
Account number: 0783966
Then it will have you enter the amount you are sending (3500 yen if ordered on or before the 27th), followed by your name in katakana. If you are buying more than one ticket, please only write your own name, we will just enter the extras as +1, +2, etc.
After you furikomi your money, you will be added to the guest list. You can pick up a paper ticket, should you so desire, at MYS on the 27th.
If you need help making the transaction, please ask your friends, your school, or the friendly employees of your local bank (I’m not too proud to admit that I needed help to search for the bank name…).
Just a reminder to everyone that there are still plenty of tickets available for people who want to invite friends. Please don’t hesitate to invite JETs from other prefectures, non-JET ALT friends, or Japanese friends. Should you decide to add more people, just adjust your RSVP to reflect the number of guests you will be bringing.
